Larry H. Carter, age 80 of Paris, TN, died Thursday, January 21, 2021, at Henry County Medical Center in Paris.
He retired after serving 28 years as a Lieutenant Colonel for the Tennessee National Guard. After serving in the Guard, he spent many years running Carter’s Sales and Services. Along with tinkering with appliances, he enjoyed hunting fishing, reading, and American Military History.
Born October 22, 1940, in Paris, TN, to the late Winford Harold Carter and to the late Mildred Eleanor Moseley Carter.
He was married on December 12, 1996, to Sandra F “Sandy” Pinkston Carter, who survives of Paris.
Along with his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Amanda Leigh (Gregory) Fennell of Indianapolis, IN; two sons, Eric (Shauna) Carter of Murfreesboro, TN and Paul H. Russell of Annville, KY; one sister, Shirley (Joe) Casey of Paris; three grandchildren, Jameson Carter of Murfreesboro, TN, Kara Russell of Paris, and Austin Medlock of Paris; and one great grandchild, Avacyn Medlock of Paris.
Ridgeway Funeral Home 201 Dunlap St./P.O. Box 788, Paris, TN 38242, will be handling the arrangements. There will be a graveside service Tuesday, January 26, 2021, at 2 pm at Sandy Point Cemetery, 4170 Highway, 70 W Sandy Point Rd, Camden, TN 38320.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
