Keith Casteel, age 80 of Paris, TN, formerly of Savannah, TN, died Thursday October 6, 2016 at Plumley Rehab Center in Paris.
Keith was a US Army Vietnam Veteran. After serving his country he worked in Forestry Management for many years in the timber and papermill industry. He last worked for Packaging Corporation of America in Counce, TN. He was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Savannah, TN and former Deacon. He was also a former board member at the Savannah-Hardin County Airport and a Civil Air Patrol member. Keith was an Auburn University Alumni and former Little League Baseball Coach in Savannah, TN. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and especially ginseng digging with his father and brother.
Keith was born July 24, 1936 in Collinwood, TN, the son of the late James Herman Casteel and the late Opal Bryant Casteel.
He was married September 12, 1959 to Marjorie O'Brien Casteel of Paris and she survives. He is also survived by his one son, Chris (Lisa) Casteel of Paris, Tenn; one grandson, Mitchell Casteel of Paris, Tenn; two nieces, Lisa (Gary) Morton, and Paige (Chris) Jackson; and several cousins.
Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by brothers, Von Herman Casteel and Gary Randall Casteel; and grandson, Jameson Casteel.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St, Paris, Tenn, where the visitation will be from 3 – 5 pm Sunday, October 9, 2016 and from 1 – 3 pm Monday, October 10, 2016. The Funeral Service will be at LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home at 3:00 pm Monday, October 10, 2016 with Bro. Dennis Trull officiating.
Entombment will follow in Rose Lawn Mausoleum in Paris, Tenn.
