Kay Vancleave Harris

Kay VanCleave Harris, age 81 of Paris, TN, died Friday, November 22, 2019, at her residence.

She was a member of Foundry Hill Community of Christ.  She graduated from Cottage Grove High School and formerly worked at Jim Adams IGA and the Avalon Restaurants.  She loved growing flowers,  gardening, cooking and going to flea markets and yard sales.

Kay was born March 9, 1938, in Camden, TN to the late Early Fate VanCleave and the late Virgie Mae Wright VanCleave.

She was married to Benny “Red” Harris on December 5, 1968, who preceded her in death on March 5, 2019.

She is survived by her two daughters, Karen Harris and fiancé Eddie Anderson of Paris, TN, and Kathy Dunlap (Kenny) Brewer of Paducah, KY; one son, Robert “Bubba” (Diana) Dunlap of Puryear, TN; one sister, Virginia Ann “Sue” Wright of Paris, TN; eight grandchildren, Katie Perry, Kelly Dunlap, Kristy Reed, Rachel Page Dunlap, Rebecca Cunningham, Sgt. John A. Cummings, Kristina Hicks, and Lee Ann Wilcher; and 17 great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by one son, Richard “Box” Dunlap; two sisters, Gladys Mae VanCleave, and Rachel Wiseman; and five brothers, Hershel VanCleave, James Martin VanCleave, Early Eugene “Gene” VanCleave, Garvin VanCleave, and George VanCleave.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home 201 Dunlap Street, Paris, TN 38242.  A graveside service will be held Sunday, November 24, 2019, at 2:00 pm at Foundry Hill Community of Christ Cemetery in Puryear, TN with Dale Gallimore officiating.
