Kay Lampkins

Kay Lampkins, age 79 of Cottage Grove, TN, passed away on Sunday, March 2, 2025, at Patriot Health and Rehabilitation Center in Paris, TN.

She was married to Charles Everett Lampkins, who preceded her in death, for over 50 years. 

Kay was born on August 1, 1945, to the late Charlie Freman Nichols and the late Pauline Gatewood Nichols. 

Kay dedicated 10 years to Salant & Salant before retiring from IGA after 30 years of service. She was a devoted member of Olive Branch Methodist Church. In her early years, she shined as a basketball all-star at Cottage Grove School. Kay had a deep love for life, finding joy in mowing, tending to her flowers, and caring for her animals. Above all, she cherished her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by one daughter, Lisa (Kacy) Watkins of Cottage Grove; four grandchildren, Brandi Brown, Joey (Kristin) Lampkins, Emily Lampkins, and John Watkins; five great-grandchildren, Aberie, James, Aria, Asher, and Judson David; one sister-in-law, Sue Carol Nichols of Whitlock, TN; one daughter-in-law, Maggie Lampkins of Cottage Grove, TN; one niece, Denay (David) Kibbler of Puryear, TN; and one nephew, Andy (Sandra) Jackson of Paris, TN.  

Along with her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one son, David Lampkins; one sister, Sherry Crawford; and one brother, Larry Nichols. 

Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street, Paris, TN, 38242, is handling the arrangements. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 6, 2025, at Ridgeway Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Ridgeway Funeral Home, with Mike Wimberly officiating. 

Burial will follow at Walker Cemetery with Joey Lampkins, Kacy Watkins, John Watkins, Kennith Wood, Harlon Smith, and Matthew Tyler serving as pallbearers. 

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be David Kibbler, Jared Kibbler, Jaden Kibbler, and Jack Kibbler.
