Katie Lee Fitzhugh, age 83, of Paris, Tenn., died Saturday, February 20, 2016, at Morningside in Paris, Tenn.
She was a member of Springhill Baptist Church from 1974-2008 where she was active in the WMU. She was presently a member of Henry Baptist Church. Katie enjoyed quilting, canning, gardening, babysitting her grandchildren, and being a housewife. She loved music and going to Gospel singings with her Husband.
Katie was born June 26, 1932 in Dover, TN to the late Clarence Shemwell and the late Virgie Smith Shemwell.
Katie was married on November 4, 1950 to Carl B. Fitzhugh and he preceded in death August 30, 2011. She is survived by her one Daughter, Kathleen (Eddie) Turner of Henry, Tenn; one Son, Carlon Gene (Deborah) Fitzhugh of Harriman, Tenn; two Sisters, Louise Suren of Hendersonville, Tenn, and Frances Sykes of Clarksville, Tenn; Grandchildren, Travis (Alicia) Jones of Paris, TN, Casey (Marney) Jones of Henry, TN, Shelia (Steve) Staggs of Harriman, TN, Donnie (Diane) Fitzhugh of Harriman, TN; Great Grandchildren, Gunner Jones of Henry, TN, Mary Presley Jones of Henry, TN, Madelynn Jones of Henry, TN, Olivia Kate Jones of Paris, TN, Nicholas Staggs of Harriman, TN, Zachary Staggs of Harriman, TN, Cameron Fitzhugh of Harriman, TN; Step Grandchildren, Shawn (Jamie) Turner of Henry, TN and Penny Turner of Henry, TN; Step Great Grandchildren, River Turner of Henry, TN and Pamela Hodge of Alabama.
Besides her Husband and Parents, she was also preceded in death by a Brother, Clarence Shemwell; and Step Great Grandchildren, Cory Hodge and Alex Turner.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St., Paris, Tenn., where the visitation will be from 4 - 7:30 pm Sunday, February 21, 2016 and from 9 – 10 am Monday, February 22, 2016. The Funeral Service will be at LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home at 10:00 am Monday, February 22, 2016.
John Sutton will officiate. Pallbearers will be Travis Jones, Casey Jones, Donnie Fitzhugh, Steve Staggs, Nicholas Staggs, and James Aldridge.
Interment will be at Mt. View Cemetery in Dover, Tenn.
