Kathie Burnett

Kathie Denese Burnett, age 65 of Puryear, TN, passed away Saturday, August 17, 2024 at her residence surrounded by her family.

Kathie retired from the Murray Calloway Transit Authority as a dispatcher. She was a member of the former Faith Missionary Baptist Church in Hazel, KY. She loved riding her grandchildren around on the golf cart, and enjoyed camping at Piney Campground. She also enjoyed going on cruises, and traveling around the country with her husband on their Harley Davidson or in his semi-truck seeing the country. Kathie was an avid Alabama fan and Predators fan.

Kathie was born April 23, 1959 in Nashville, TN to the late Leonard Allen and the late Carolyn Clendenin Allen Casteel.

She was married on September 20, 1980 to Gary “Grease Monkey” Burnett who survives of Puryear. She is also survived by one daughter, Amelia Eyres of Puryear, TN; one son Terry (Kayla) Burnett of Puryear, TN; one sister-in-law, Nancy Allen of Hutto, TX; 10 grandchildren, Samantha, Abigail, Chelsea, Justice, Nicholas, Kyrsten, Calexanderia, Kailyn, Jacob, and Tyler; two great grandchildren, Lilyanna, and Larry III; a cousin, Helen (Lynn) Key of Paris, TN; and three nieces and one nephew. 

Besides her parents, Kathie was also preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth Allen, and Roger Allen. 

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St, Paris, TN 38242. Visitation will be Monday, August 19, 2024 at Ridgeway Funeral Home from 4 - 7 pm and continue Tuesday, August 20, 2023 from 12 - 2 pm with a funeral service at 2:00 pm at Ridgeway Funeral Home. Bobby Lady and Chad Kennedy will officiate. 

 Serving as pallbearers will be Jason Robbins, Tim Allen, Jesse Morris, Colby Culver, Jamie Lawrence, and Robert Mercier. Named as honorary pallbearers are Jacob Burnett, Nicholas Greely Burnett, and Rick Queen. 

Burial will follow in Hazel Cemetery in Hazel, KY.
