June Butler

Former Henry Countian, June Catherine Butler, age 92, of Clarksville, TN, died Tuesday, May 23, 2017, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN.
June was a homemaker. She formerly attended a United Methodist Church in Paris, TN. She enjoyed sewing and gardening, especially her flowers, and loved fishing. She was very proud that four of her five children served in the medical field.
June was born May 9, 1925, in Akron, TN, outside Chattanooga, to the late Donald David Welch and the late Maude Catherine Harris Welch.
She was married on July 4, 1940, to Ivan Hersholt Butler, who preceded her in death on June 30, 1996.
She is survived by two daughters, Cindy Jo Shaffer of Lebanon, TN, and Jan Berg of Clarksville, TN; two sons, Bobby Gene Butler of Clarksville, TN, and Dr. Thomas W. (Mary) Butler of Mobile, AL; one brother, Howard (Imogene) Welch of Knoxville, TN; nine grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
Along with her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by one son, Donald I. Butler; one son-in-law, Steve Shaffer; one brother Albert Welch; two sisters, Alice Webb and Jo Carolyn Rigg; and one grandchild.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St, Paris, TN, where visitation will be Friday May 26, 2017, from 9:00 – 10:30 am. A graveside service will be Friday May 26, 2017, at 11:00 am at Hillcrest Memorial Park, with burial to follow.
Family will serve as pallbearers.
