Mary Julia Gillikin, age 104, longtime resident of Atlantic, NC,  died Saturday, June 27, 2015, at Benchmark Healthcare of Puryear in Puryear, Tenn.

Julia was married in 1929 to Benjamin Gillikin and he preceded in death in 1964.    She had been  a member of the Church of Christ since 1938.     She was an active volunteer in Hospitals where she lived and she had enjoyed gardening, woodworking, crocheting,  cooking, reading and helping people.

She was born July 4, 1910 in Lee, PA to the late Joseph Shenuski and the late Theodora Betitus Shenuski.

She is survived by her  One Daughter,  Jennifer (Jerry) Scarbrough of Buchanan, Tenn;  One Son,  Ben (Deborah) Gillikin of Princeville, Hawaii;  Son-In-Law,  Ed Baker of Daniel Island, S.C.;  Grandchildren,  Marsha Reier of Daniel Island, SC,  Tina Baker of Daniel Island, SC,  Laura K. Blumeyer of Boone, NC, Benjamin (Jeannine) Gillikin of Piedmont, CA,  Jason (Britannie) Scarbrough of Buchanan, TN,  Timothy Gillikin of Rutherford, NC,  and  Michelle Mastropiepro of Fletcher, NC;  and 15 Great Grandchildren.

Besides her Husband and Parents, Julia was also preceded in death by a Daughter, Dee Baker (2001);   9 Siblings;   and Two Grandchildren,  Julie Scarbrough (1989) and Peyton Baker.

Arrangements in TN are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St.,  Paris, Tenn.  No services are planned in Tennessee.

There will be a Graveside service at the New Bern National Cemetery in New Bern, NC at 11:00 am Friday, July  3, 2015.     The Services are being handled by Pollock-Best Funerals and Cremations, 2015 Neuse Blvd.,  New Bern, NC 28560 .

Interment will be at New Bern National Cemetery in New Bern, N.C.
