Juanita Jackson Mcwherter Brooks

Juanita Jackson McWherter Brooks, age 86 of Puryear, TN, died Tuesday, July 23, 2019, at her residence.

Juanita was a member of Puryear Baptist Church. She formerly had worked at Salant and Salant. Her love in life was helping others in need through her yard sales. She enjoyed hosting and coordinating family reunions and get to togethers. Her passion in life was loving others.

She was born November 23, 1932 in Paris, TN, to the late Herbert Andrew Jackson and the late Josie Wade Jackson.

Juanita was married November 25, 1980 to Dan Lawrence Brooks, who survives of Puryear, TN.

Along with her husband, she is survived by two sons, Paul (Star) McWherter of Deer Park, TX,  and Eugene McWherter of Murray, KY;  two step daughters, Diane (Steve) Ryan of Granite City, IL, and Andrea (Mark) Duvall of Jefferson City, MO; two step sons, D.J. (Monica) Brooks of Granite City, IL, and Robert (Andrea) Brooks of St. Louis, MO; 20 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by one daughter, Donna McWherter; one son, David McWherter; three sisters, Ophelia Jackson, Odell Henderson, and Oreta Long; and two stepbrothers, Mason Hudgins and Roy Hudgins.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St., Paris, TN.  Visitation will be Wednesday, July 24, 2019, from 10:30 am – 1:00 pm at Ridgeway Funeral Home.  The funeral service will be Wednesday, July 24, 2019, at 1:00 pm at Ridgeway Funeral Home with her sons Paul McWherter and Eugene McWherter officiating.

Her grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.

Burial will follow in Olive Branch Cemetery in Como, TN.
