An unnatural force of nature...if that’s not a contradiction. Joyce Jeanine Huggins, 03/08/1931-01/13/2025. A brilliant little girl from East Point, GA affectionately nicknamed “Miss Bouncy”; by her dad for her boundless energy and precociousness, she was a prodigy on piano, an accomplished ice and roller skater (how she met my dad) and a brilliant math major. Valedictorian in High School and College, she went on to be a school teacher, a loving and loyal wife, an overprotective mother and an incredible grandma. Funny, clever, conspiring with her two grandsons, she seemed to have preserved some hidden talents for story- telling and general mischief for her next generation boys. None of us remaining will ever know it all and I’m sure she prefers it that way. Anyway, you could write a volume of books about my mom and never do her justice, as I’m sure many of you can appreciate. And now she’s making her last trip.
Special thanks to Marie and Teresa in Atlanta and the entire staff of Henry County Health Care and Rehab. Nothing will ever suffice.
Carry on, Mom, and Gramma, we love you.
Joyce was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Wallace J. Huggins and is survived by son Wally, daughter- in- law Katie, and grandsons Wesley and Barrett.
