Joy Rawls Brisendine, age 85 of Paris, TN, died Friday, February 11, 2022, at her residence.
She was a homemaker and member of East Wood Church of Christ. Joy enjoyed traveling by motorcycles with her late husband, Lowell. Later in life, she also took up and enjoyed camping. She very much enjoyed retirement.
Joy was born April 22, 1936, in Weakley County, TN, to the late James Leonard “Pod” Rawls and the late Lottie Bell Crawford Rawls.
She was married May 25, 1958, to Lowell Thomas Brisendine, who preceded her in death on May 12, 2019.
She is survived by her daughter, Jacquta (Kelly) Burke of Paris; one grandchild, Dana Burke of Puryear; one sister, Betty Hart Jackson of Puryear, TN; two brothers, Kenneth (Denise) Rawls of Paris, and Mark (Tina) Rawls of Paris; and one sister-in-law, Kathy Rawls of McKenzie, TN.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by one sister, Sue Turpen; and two brothers, Charles Rawls and Jerry Rawls.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street, Paris, TN 38242. Visitation will be Tuesday, February 15, 2022, from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm at Ridgeway Funeral Home, and continue Wednesday, February 16, 2022, from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm. The funeral service will be Wednesday, February 16, 2022, at 12:00 pm at Ridgeway Funeral Home, with Randy Stephens officiating.
Serving as pallbearers will be Ted Hart, Scott Turpen, Mark Rawls, Kenneth Rawls, Billy Anderson, Gary Moon, and Dave Perry.
Burial will be in Puryear City Cemetery in Puryear, TN.
