Johnnie Ruth Bickerstaff, age 74 of Buchanan, TN, died Tuesday, August 22, 2017, at her residence in Buchanan, TN.
She was a retired paralegal for the former Law Office of Victoria DeBonaventura in Paris, TN. She loved fishing, working in the yard, and family get-togethers.
Johnnie was born January 9, 1943, in Paris, TN, to the late Johnnie Freeman Davis and the late Margaret Malone Anderson Davis.
She was married June 19, 1982, to Jerry Lloyd Bickerstaff, who survives, of Buchanan, TN.
Along with her husband, she is also survived by one daughter, Tamera Dawn Milam of Granite City, IL; two sons, William Jeff (Mary Ann) Gant of Buchanan, TN, and James Freeman (Paula) Gant of Buchanan, TN; three sisters, Brenda J. Bertschi of Paris, TN, Joy (Greg) Cruse of Hollow Rock, TN, and Carmen (Polo) Benzor of Memphis, TN; one brother-in-law, Bill Reese of Spartanburg, PA; 10 grandchildren; and 20 great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by one son, Scotty Ray Gant; and one sister, Marie Reese.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St, Paris, TN. The body is to be cremated. Memorial visitation will be Saturday, August 26, 2017, from 5:00 pm – 6:00 pm at the Bickerstaff Home at 11015 Highway 140 East, Buchanan, TN 38222. A Celebration of Life service will be Saturday, August 26, 2017, at 6:00 pm the Bickerstaff Home in Buchanan, TN, with Chad Kennedy officiating.
Burial of cremains will be in New Beaver Dam Cemetery in Buchanan, TN, at a later date.
