John Thresher

John Dennis Thresher, age 72 of Springville, TN, died Friday, September 14, 2018, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN.

He retired after a 30-year career as a school teacher in Missouri.  He was a member of Russwood Baptist Church in Buchanan, TN.  John was a jack-of-all-trades and could fix anything.  He enjoyed fishing, especially in the local bass tournaments.  He also enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren, family, and friends.  He loved his three cats and watching wildlife in the yard at the house.

John was born August 16, 1946, in East Prairie, MO, to the late Malcolm Thresher and the late Margaret Widdows Thresher.

He was married May 31, 1964, to Cindy Webb Thresher, who survives, of Springville, TN.

Along with his wife, he is also survived by one daughter, Camille (Mike) McSwain of Springville, TN; one son, Chad (Heather) Thresher of Clarksville, TN; one sister, Janet Waldo of Florida; eight grandchildren, Zane Ross, Zach Ambrose, Kaitlyn Gomez, Courtney Gomez, Christian Gomez, Hunter McSwain, Briar Moroschak, Luke Moroschak, and Dawson Moroschak; and four great grandchildren, Zayden Ross, Braxtyn New, Zailey Ambrose, and Madelyn Gomez.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St, Paris, TN.  The body is to be cremated.

Memorial visitation will be at The Landing at Paris Inn & Suites, 1297 E. Wood St,  Paris, TN on Tuesday, September 18, 2018, from 4:30 pm – 6:00 pm, with the memorial service to begin at 6:00 pm.
