Joey Thompson

Joel Allen “Joey” Thompson, age 57 of Puryear, TN, died Sunday, December 8, 2019, at his residence.

He formerly worked at Tri Turf Sod and was a truck driver for Revel Logging. He loved his family and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was Baptist in faith.

Joey was born November 4, 1962, to the late Curtis Dale Thompson and to the late Betty Jane Evans Thompson.

He is survived by a son, Jimmy Dale Johnson of Paris; and Kayce Jetton of Puryear, who was like a daughter to Joey; a sister, Tammy (Jerry) Freeland of Paris; a brother, Jeff (Roxanne) Thompson of Paris; a niece, Megan Hollingsworth; two nephews, Chad (Holly) Thompson and Neil (Katie) Thompson; and several cousins.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a niece, Heather Hollingsworth, and a nephew, Christopher Earl Archie Hollingsworth.

Honorary Pallbearers for the service are Tommy Hollingsworth, Dale Hosford, Dennis Bush, Duhl Evans, David Evans, Darrell Evans, Dwain Evans, and Joey Michuda.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street, Paris, TN.

The body is to be cremated.

There will be memorial visitation Wednesday, December 11, 2019, from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm at Ridgeway Funeral Home, with a Memorial Service to follow at 7:00 pm in LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home with Chad Kennedy officiating.
