Joe "Joemama" Watkins

Joe “Joemama” Watkins, age 63 of Springville, TN, died Tuesday, June 28, 2022, at TriStar Horizon Medical Center in Dickson, TN.

He was a graduate of Murray State University where he received a Bachelor of Science in safety and was employed at Barton-Malow as a safety advisor.  Playing the guitar was a big part of Joe’s life and he also enjoyed golfing.  He was known as “Paw Paw” to his grandchildren, and he loved spending time with them.

Joe was born January 19, 1959, in Ashiya, Japan, to the late Clyde Weldon Watkins and the late Nancy Ann Watkins

He was married October 8, 2008, to Cheri Marino Watkins, who survives, of Springville, TN.

Along with his wife, he is also survived by three children, Anthony (Teri) Conklin of Paris, Michael Conklin of Paris, and Samantha (Joe) Grande of Springville, TN; and four grandchildren, Chloe Conklin, Noah Wade Grande, Skyler Chandler, and Colton Witherspoon.

Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by one brother, Gerald Wade Watkins.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St/PO Box 788, Paris, TN 38242.  Visitation will be Saturday, July 2, 2022, from 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm at Ridgeway Funeral Home with a time of sharing beginning at 6:00 pm at Ridgeway Funeral Home.

Cremation will follow the service.
