JoAnn Dotson Harber, age 68, died Friday, March 9, 2018, at her sister’s residence in Paris, after a courageous battle with cancer.
She attended First Baptist Church and was loved by the community as a Restauranteur, Real Estate Agent and co-owner of Butler & Harber Shoes with her late husband, the love of her life. She retired after 29 years from Dana Corporation. She loved her family, cooking for her family and friends, gardening, canning and tending to her flowers. She always put others before herself and will be remembered for her nurturing spirit and tireless caring for others.
Born November 30, 1949, in Fayette, Alabama, she was the daughter of the late James Dotson and the late Icy Dora Head Dotson. JoAnn lived most of her life in Tennessee, graduating from Buchanan High School then settling in Paris. She married David Harber on July 4, 1992 who preceded her in death December 21, 2010.
She is survived by her mother in law, Hazel Butler Harber of Paris; bonus daughter, Danielle (James) Hrachovina of Paris; bonus son Jason (Jacquelyn) Harber of Rochester, Mich.; four siblings: Don (Vanice) Dotson of Dyersburg, Christine Barr of Paris, Pauline (John) Morgan of Mansfield, and John (Ellie) Dotson of Memphis; brother in law, Bill (Kay) Harber of Paris; sister in law, Melanie Harber of Southaven, Miss.; grandchildren: Austin (Brianna) Hrachovina of Paris and Zachery Harber of Rochester Hills, MI; great granddaughter, Harber Grey Hrachovina; and many nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by her father in law: Billy O. Harber Sr.; sister: Jean Dotson; brothers in law: Tom Barr and Ron Harber.
Ridgeway Funeral Home 201 Dunlap St., Paris, TN will be handling the arrangements where the visitation will be Tuesday, March 13, 2018, from 12 PM until 2PM followed by the funeral service at 2 PM Tuesday, March 13, 2018, in LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home with Bro. Scott Solowey officiating.
Pallbearers for the service will be Chris Davenport, Cody Dotson, Donald Dotson Lynn Dotson, Austin Hrachovina, James Hrachovina, James Morgan and Michael Morgan.
Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
The family has requested memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, 2000 Charlotte Ave, Nashville, TN 37203.
