Joann Atkins

JoAnn Atkins, age 80 of Paris, TN, died Saturday, January 29, 2022, at Henry County Medical Center in Paris.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Paris Church of God of Prophecy.  JoAnn was the family matriarch and was lovingly known as “Momma” and “Granny.”  No one was a stranger to her, and she invited everyone into her inner circle.  She enjoyed shopping, was a great cook, and loved flowers.  JoAnn had a wonderful sense of humor and she loved to write cards and encourage others.

JoAnn was born October 5, 1941, to the late Silas Johnson and the late Marie Rice Johnson.

She was married February 15, 1960, to Bobbie J. Atkins, who survives, of Paris.

Along with her husband, she is also survived by three children, Ronnie Atkins of Paris, Linda (Randy) Crowder of Paris, and Cindy (Joe) Fain of Paris; one sister, Sharon Ray of Maynard, AR; five grandchildren, Matthew (Ruthie) Crowder of Cleveland, TN, Tracie (Chad) Smith of Walhalla, SC, Caleb (Annie) Fain of Memphis, TN, Hunter Crowder of Brentwood, TN, and David Fain of Paris; and six great grandchildren, J.B. and Will Bailey, Jeremiah Crowder, and Brie, Paisley, and Rian Smith.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by one sister; three brothers; and one great grandchild, Reid James Smith.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street, Paris, TN 38242.  Visitation will be Tuesday, February 1, 2022, from 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm at Paris Church of God of Prophecy, 4088 Hwy 218 Bypass, Paris, TN 38242, with the funeral service beginning at 3:00 pm at Paris Church of God of Prophecy, with Everett Holloway officiating.

Family members will serve as pallbearers.

Burial will be in Memorial Cemetery in Paris, TN.
