Jeff “Bullrider” Burton, age 60 of Boaz, AL, formerly of Puryear, TN, died Wednesday, February 1, 2023, at Marshall South Hospital in Boaz, AL.
He was a truck driver, bull hauler, and a longtime cowboy. Jeff loved the rodeo and bull riding. He was one of a kind and was known around as “Bullrider – the Man, the Myth, and the Legend.”
Jeff was born August 1, 1962, in Kentucky to the late James Terry Burton and Tommie Joyce Valentine Burton, who survives, of Puryear, TN.
Along with his mother, he is also survived by his longtime girlfriend, Tammy Allison of Boaz, AL; his daughter, Amanda DuBois of Puryear, TN; one sister, Tina (Danny) Spies of Mt. Juliet, TN; two grandchildren, Mikali Mounts and Casey Mounts; two aunts, Jan (Johnny) Brown, and Gayneita (Weldon) Gallimore; one uncle, Dwight (Kathy) Valentine of Puryear, TN; and his dog, Scooter.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St, Paris, TN. Visitation will be Tuesday, February 7, 2023, from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm at Ridgeway Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, February 7, 2023, at 1:30 pm at Puryear City Cemetery in Puryear, TN, with Chad Kennedy and Wendy Mitchell officiating.
Serving as pallbearers will be Johnny Wilson, David Childers, Clint Stoope, Tim Barnhill, Larry Brannon, and Waylon Mayberry.
Burial will follow the graveside service in Puryear City Cemetery.
