Janet "Jan" Debruce

Janet Denice “Jan” DeBruce age 55 of Paris, died Saturday, April 3, 2021, in Nashville.

She formerly worked as a sitter for Peace of Mind Healthcare Advocate Services, a job she enjoyed immensely. Jan loved kayaking, camping, and riding motorcycles. She also enjoyed singing and playing the guitar. Jan was a Christian.

Jan was born June 3, 1965, in Paris, to the late Max Lenton Mathis, and Mary Evelyn Paschall Mathis, who survives of Paris.

Along with her mother, she is also survived by a daughter, Jennifer (Sladen) Sullivan of Paris; two sons, Dustin Lynn Wilbanks of Gleason, TN, and Jared Harris of AL; two sisters, Debbie Mathis Barker and Patti Mathis Owen both of Paris; a brother, Ricky (Sylvia) Mathis of Mansfield; and five grandchildren, Delaney Wilbanks, Levi Money, Ethan Lenton Harris, Kolden Genesis Harris, and Dahlia Sullivan; and her best friends, Geri Boyd, and Jeri Leavelle.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St./P.O. Box 788. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 6, 2021 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Ridgeway Funeral Home. Her funeral service will be Tuesday, April 6, 2021, at 1 p.m. in LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home with John Dale officiating.

Serving as pallbearers will be Levi Money, Sladen Sullivan, Mathis Hutson, Reece Killion, Wesley Owen, and Jeremy Owen.

Burial will follow in Olive Branch Cemetery in Paris, TN.
