A graveside memorial service was planned at 10:30 a.m. today in Memorial Cemetery for retired quality inspector Janet L. Sandora of Springville.
Family and friends served as pallbearers.
Sandora, 73, died Saturday, Aug. 31, 2013, at her residence.
She was married on June 10, 1961, to Richard Wayne Sandora, who survives.
Born July 12, 1940, in Alexis, Ill., she was a daughter of the late Alfred and Zelma Decker Bivens.
Sandora retired as a quality inspector for Chesebrough Ponds in Chicago. She was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Burbank, Ill. Her husband said she was a great mother and “Nana.”
She also leaves two daughters: Kimberly (Ronald) Dinkel of Hendersonville and Denise (Tom) August of Darien, Ill.; one son: Guy Sandora of Chicago; two sisters: Beverly Hayes of Florida and Carol Lee of Springville; two brothers: Jim (Sandy) Bivens of Moline, Ill., and Bill Bivens of Galesburg, Ill.;
Six grandchildren: Nicole Barry and fiancé Ganesh Sunder of Chicago, Matthew (Krystal) Martens of Alsip, Ill., Robert Barry of Paris, Samantha Martens of Tinley Park, Ill., and Brittany and Shelby Dinkel, both of Hendersonville; and two great-grandchildren: Nathan Martens and Benjamin Barry.
She also was preceded in death by two brothers: Bob and Larry Bivens.
