Jane Wilson

Jane McMaster Wilson, age 86 of Paris, TN, passed away on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at her residence. 

She was born May 18, 1938, in South Madison County, TN. Her parents were the late Sam Allen McMaster and the late Inez Cearley McMaster.

Jane married Walter Clay Wilson on June 2, 1973, who survives of Paris.

Jane attended Toone Elementary School and graduated from Bolivar Central High School in 1956, where she was a member of the band. She received a bachelor’s degree in education from Union University in 1967. Jane taught in the Haywood and Hardeman County public school systems for 32 years before retiring in 2000. 

She was a member of the Zeta Tau Alpha Fraternity- Beta Omega Chapter, Jackson Madison County Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution, United Daughters of the Confederacy, and the local Paris Women’s Club. Jane was a member of Tennessee Valley Community Church where her son, Carlton Gerrell, is the Executive Pastor.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by one son, Carlton (Norma) Gerrell of Paris, TN; two grandsons, Trey (Emily) Gerrell of Memphis, TN, and Scott Gerrell of Jackson, TN; two nieces, Ann (Brent) Hollenbeck of Ann Arbor, MI, and Jane (Marc) Stein of Austin, TX; one nephew, Karl (Heidi) Kemmer of Chandler, AZ; and longtime caregiver, Lori Life. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four siblings, Jerry McMaster, Aubrey McMaster, Ann McMaster Kemmer, and Joyce McMaster Theobald. 

Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street, Paris, TN, 38242, is currently handling the arrangements. Visitation is scheduled from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at Ridgeway Funeral Home, and from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 9, 2025, at Ridgeway Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Sunday, March 9, 2025, at Ridgeway Funeral Home beginning at 2:00 p.m. with Carlton Gerrell officiating.

Burial will follow at Clover Creek Cemetery in Medon, TN.
