James Wayne Gates, age 53 of Paris, TN, died Thursday, March 22, 2018, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital in Jackson, TN.
He was a self-employed truck driver, and formerly worked for Davis Paving. He enjoyed reading westerns, and spending time with his grandchildren.
James was born November 10, 1964, in Paris, TN, to James A. Gates, who survives, of Puryear, TN, and the late Judith Ann “Judy” Winsett Gates.
Along with his father, he is survived by one daughter, Breanne Gates of Paris, TN; two sisters, Marsha Cosey of Knoxville, TN, and Tamera Dicus of Paris, TN; two brothers, Loy Gates of Springville, TN, and Brad (Whitney) Gates of Buchanan, TN; one grandmother, Faye Winsett of Bruceton, TN; two grandchildren, Tristan Lowery and Greyson Lowery; and 10 nieces and nephews.
In addition to his mother, he was also preceded in death by one brother-in-law, Tommie Dicus.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St, Paris, TN, where visitation will be Saturday, March 24, 2018, from 10:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. A graveside service will be held Saturday, March 24, 2018, at 1:00 pm at Poplar Grove Cemetery in Springville, TN, with Bro. Joe Page officiating.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jeff Davis, Mike Buie, Loy Gates, Brad Gates, Sheldon Calvin and James Askew.
Burial will be Poplar Grove Cemetery in Springville, TN.
