James Troy Williamson, age 81 of Greenfield, TN, died Thursday, August 2, 2018, at his residence in Greenfield, TN.
He spent many years as a truck driver where he drove for several companies, retiring from Doyle Sims & Sons Trucking in Gleason, TN. He attended St. John’s Christian Fellowship in Paris. James loved hunting, fishing, and motorcycles. He loved racing cars in Chicago and big trucks. He was a U.S. Army veteran.
James was born July 23, 1937, in Stribling, TN, in Stewart County, to the late Troy Hill Williamson and the late Maggie Boone Williamson.
He was married September 19, 1998, to Saundra Griffin Williamson, who survives of Greenfield, TN.
Along with his wife, he is also survived by one daughter, Tina Hoffman of Dresden, TN; two sisters-in-law, Linda Arnold of Greenfield, TN, and Paula Griffin of Sharon, TN; two brothers-in-law, Ricky Dale Griffin of Greenfield, TN, and Donald (Pam) Griffin of Greenfield, TN; four grandchildren, Kara (Dusty) Mann, Justin Hoffman, Dalton Morgan, and Garrett Morgan; and one great grandchild, Haizley Mann.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one sister, Jean Brooks.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St, Paris, TN, where visitation will be Saturday, August 4, 2018, from 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm, with the funeral service beginning at 2:00 pm at LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home, with David Jordan officiating.
Pallbearers will be Ricky Griffin, David Crouch, J.T. Turner, Greg Morgan, Mike Tyler, Jerry Sweatt, and Dusty Mann. Named as honorary pallbearers are the grandsons, Justin Hoffman, Dalton Morgan, and Garrett Morgan.
Burial will be in Olive Branch Cemetery in Cottage Grove, TN.
