James “Pete” Bucy, age 89 of Paris, TN, died Wednesday, November 18, 2020, at his residence in Paris.
He retired as a trucker driver for Time DC Trucking, and as an independent painter for many years. Pete was a Korean War Veteran, who served in the US Marine Corps. He was a member of Maplewood Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon for 51 years, and a Sunday School teacher for many years. He loved fishing and gardening.
Pete was married March 4, 1955, to Carolyn L. Culpepper Bucy, who survives of Paris.
He was born March 15, 1931, in Springville, TN, to the late G.W “Guy” William Bucy and the late Kate Eunice Wainscott Bucy.
Along with his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Karen (Charles) Wurth of Eads, TN; one son, Dr. Guy Steven Bucy of Ocala, FL; two brothers, Billy Bucy of Detroit, MI and Charles Bucy of Paris; and three grandchildren, Harrison (Arden) Davis Bucy, Teagan James Bucy, and Talley Kate Bucy; and one great grandchild, Faryn Elizabeth Bucy.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Lorene Wells; four brothers, Johnnie Bucy, Carlos Bucy, J.T. Bucy, and Bobby Bucy; and one grandchild, Jordan Edward Bucy.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St/PO Box 788, Paris, TN 38242. A private Graveside service will be held at the Buck Williams Cemetery with Lynn King officiating.
A Celebration of Life will be held March 14, 2021, at Maplewood Baptist Church.
