James L. McDonald, age 87 of Paris, TN, died Monday, March 12, 2018, at his residence in Paris, TN.
He retired from General Motors in Flint, MI. He was a US Army Veteran who served in Korea. He enjoyed traveling, fishing, working in the yard, and gardening. He was a member of Point Pleasant Baptist Church.
James was born March 21, 1930, in Ecru, MS, to the late Curt McDonald and the late Naomi Andrews McDonald.
He was married April 24, 1948, to Nora E. Roe McDonald, who survives, of Paris, TN.
Along with his wife, he is also survived by two daughters, M’Liss Thompson of Grand Rapids, MI, and Shelia Beale of Paris, TN; two sisters in-law, Kathy Sain and Margaret Forrest; three grandchildren, Michelle (Kelly) Watts, Shona Bedgood, and Chase Thompson; three great grandchildren, Brittany Massin, Ellie Watts, and Seth Bedgood; two great-great grandchildren, Sophie Watts and Mya Massin; one niece; and five nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one sister, Jeane Pierce; and one brother, Lewis McDonald.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St, Paris, TN, where visitation will be Thursday, March 15, 2018, from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., with the funeral service beginning at 1:00 p.m. in LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home with Larry Dukes and Jerry Lee officiating.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Carl Sykes, Gerald Rice, Gary Fletcher, Jack Evans, and Paul Setlech.
Burial will be in Flint Memorial Park in Mt. Morris, MI, at a later date.
