James "Jimmy" Stephenson

James “Jimmy” Stephenson, age 80 of Puryear, TN, died Tuesday, December 21, 2021, at his residence.

He was a graduate of Puryear High School and served in the Tennessee National Guard. He worked many years as an electrician and plumber before becoming a long-haul truck driver owner and operator. Jimmy was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church and served as a trustee. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and working on projects in his shop.

Jimmy was born August 22, 1941, in Murray, KY, to the late Vernon Roscoe Stephenson and to the late Mary Lou Newton Stephenson.

He married Judy Presson Stephenson, who survives of Puryear.

Along with his wife, he is survived by one daughter, LeAnn Stephenson of Nashville, TN; and one brother, Jerry (Luz) Stephenson of Puryear, TN.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Bobby Gerald Stephenson in infancy.

There will be no visitation and a private family memorial service will be held later.
