James "J.D." Baker

James “J.D.” Baker, age 85 of Paris, TN, died Saturday, October 6, 2018, at his residence.

He was a retired General Foreman for Cadillac Motor Company in Michigan and was a former real estate agent.  J.D. attended New Bethel Baptist Church and was an US Army Veteran who served in the Korean War.  He enjoyed flying planes, camping, fishing and was an avid Atlanta Braves fan.

Born May 3, 1933, in Dyersburg, TN, he was the son of the late Vody Baker and the late Francis Camper Baker.

J.D. was married to Elvie Olean Bell Baker April 23,1951 and she preceded him in death on April 19, 1996.

Survivors include two daughters, Patricia Baker of Paris, TN, and Norma Jean Baker (Donnie) Crafton of Saulsbury, TN; two sons, James Alton Baker of Caseville, MI, and Donny Baker and special friend Mellisa Haynes of Paris, TN; twelve grandchildren, Amanda Baker, April Lewis, Tara (Ty) McGuire-Tharpe, Nick Trull, Daniel (Brandie) Baker, Robin Baker, Christy (Steve) Pledge, Lyndsey Watson McClain, J.R. Baker, Jace Baker, Jake (Carolyn) Baker, and Jayla Baker; and 16 great grandchildren.

Along with his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by one brother, Billy Alton Baker; one daughter in law, Noreen Baker; one grandchild in infancy; and one great grandchild, Christian Goodman.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St, Paris, TN, where visitation will be Tuesday, October 9, 2018, from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm, and continue Wednesday, October 10, 2018, from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm.  There will be a committal service on Wednesday, October 10, 2018, at 2:00 pm at the Rose Lawn Mausoleum Chapel with entombment to follow in the Rose Lawn Mausoleum.

Family members will serve as pallbearers.
