James Edward “Edd” Wyatt, age 91 of Springville, TN, died Saturday, September 12, 2020, at his residence.
He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, retiring after 22 years of service. He formerly worked at Emerson Electric in Paris. Edd formerly owned and operated service stations in Paris for several years. He was a member of Spring Creek Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. Edd enjoyed rabbit hunting, fishing, and raised rabbit dogs for many years.
Edd was born March 9, 1929, in Paris, TN, to the late John Wesley Wyatt and the late Eula Mae Hedges Wyatt.
He was married May 9, 1953, to Myrtice Lee “Mutt” Massey Wyatt, who preceded him in death on April 20, 2006.
He is survived by his son, Sandy Wyatt of Springville, TN; two grandchildren, Brian (Cassie) Wyatt, and Brooklyn (Adam) Taylor; and six great grandchildren, James Matthew Wyatt, Olivia Grace Wyatt, Carson Lee Wyatt, Waverly Hixson, Beau Taylor, and River Joy Taylor.
In addition to his parents and wife, he is also preceded in death by one daughter-in-law, Donna Wyatt; four sisters, Rachel Aycock, Burdette Bowen, Flossie Davis, and Martha McMullan; and seven brothers, Roy Wyatt, Frank Wyatt, Cleveland Wyatt, Philip Wyatt, Marvin Wyatt, George Wyatt, and Paul Wyatt.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street/PO Box 788, Paris, TN 38242. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 15, 2020, from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm at Ridgeway Funeral Home, and continue Wednesday, September 16, 2020, after 10:00 am. The funeral service will be Wednesday, September 16, 2020, at 11:00 am at LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home, with Mike Robertson officiating.
Serving as pallbearers will be Brian Wyatt, Adam Taylor, Butch Wyatt, James Matthew Wyatt, Joe Warmack, and Ronnie Tyler.
Burial with Military Honors will be in Puryear City Cemetery in Puryear, TN.
