James Bennett

January 11, 1959 — October 4, 2021

James Warren “Jim” Bennett, age 62 of Puryear, TN, passed away peacefully Monday, October 4, 2021, after a hard battle with kidney disease.

He retired after several years as a florist & cake decorator.  He was also a licensed Santa Claus, working many years both in West Tennessee and the Atlanta, GA area.  Jim loved Christmas, knitting, and crocheting.  He enjoyed playing the piano and watercolors.  He was Baptist by belief.

Jim was born January 11, 1959, in Paris, TN, to the late Warren Lee Bennett and the late Linda Neenan Bennett.

He is survived by his partner, Terry Dean of Puryear, TN; two sisters, Ruby Johnson of Paris, and Betty (Clinton) Jurnett of Paris; two brothers, Thomas Bennett of Puryear, TN, and Rusty (Barbara) Bennett of Dallas, WV; and several nieces and nephews.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street, Paris, TN, 38242.  A graveside service will be held Thursday, October 7, 2021, at 11:00 am at Price Cemetery in Puryear, TN, with Thomas Bennett officiating.

Serving as pallbearers will be Terry Dean, Bryan Bennett, Clinton Jurnett, James Painter, Dennis Bush, Jr., and Brandon Chapman.

Burial will follow the graveside service in Price Cemetery.
