Jackie N. Allen

Jackie N. Allen, age 80 of Springville, TN, died Saturday, April 24, 2021, at Saint Thomas Midtown Hospital in Nashville, TN.

He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Buchanan.  He was born and raised in the Model Community “Between the Rivers”, as he often referred to it.  Jackie retired as a fuel truck driver for Greer & Hamilton, and also worked for many years as a farmer.  He enjoyed his antique tractors, mules, and bluegrass music.  He loved his church where he was very active.  Jackie was a 50-year member of the Springville Masonic Lodge # 130.

Jackie was born May 17, 1940, in Model community of Stewart County, TN, in the Land “Between the Rivers” to the late Boyd Allen and the late Sue Dortch Allen.

He was married April 8, 1961, to Wanda Green Allen, who preceded him in death.

He is survived by his daughter, Karen (Brian) Ross of Big Sandy, TN; his son, Jeff (Melissa) Allen of Puryear, TN; special friend, Cheryl Bertram of Paris; one sister, Anne Allen (Huel) Atkins of Dover, TN; one brother, Dana Boyd Allen of Dover, TN; three grandchildren, Brian (Beth) Ross, Shellie Ross Jackson, and Elizabeth (Joshua) Wright; three great grandchildren, Kaleigh Ross Jackson, Shaun Jackson, and Layla Ross; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St/PO Box 788, Paris, TN 38242.  Visitation will be Tuesday, April 27, 2021, from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm at Ridgeway Funeral Home, with a Masonic service beginning at 7:00 pm.  Visitation will continue on Wednesday, April 28, 2021, from 10:00 am – 11:00 am at Friendship Baptist Church, 1385 Friendship Road, Buchanan, TN 38222.  The funeral service will be Wednesday, April 28, 2021, at 11:00 am at Friendship Baptist Church, with Russell Ragsdale officiating.

Serving as pallbearers will be Ricky Green, Dean Burger, Steve Green, Tommy McDonald, Ronnie Fiveash, and Danny Williams.  Named as an honorary pallbearer is Mickey Atkins.

Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park in Paris, TN.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Friendship Baptist Church Building Fund, 1385 Friendship Road, Buchanan, TN 38222.
