Inge Mealer, age 82 of Paris, TN, died Friday, April 26, 2019, at Henry County Healthcare Center in Paris, TN.
She retired as a department manager of JC Penney in Chicago, IL. Inge enjoyed traveling, knitting, crocheting, and gardening. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Paris.
Inge was born May 29, 1936, in Darmstadt, Germany, to the late Julius Hoenig and the late Wilhelmine Kaefes Hoenig.
She was married January 30, 1959, to her husband of 60 years, Arthur A. Mealer, who survives, of Paris, TN.
Along with her husband, she is also survived by one daughter, Euphemia Pierce of Mayfield, KY; one son, Walter “Tom” (Debbie) Mealer of Benton, KY; two brothers-in-law, Earl (Sandy) Mealer of Puryear, TN, and Bill (Susan) Mealer of Alabaster, AL; five grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by one daughter, Donna Putnam; two sons, Craig Mealer and Kevin Mealer; sister, Madi Lee; and twin sister, Gisela Meidl.
Arrangements will be handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St., Paris, TN, 38242. The body is to be cremated. Memorial visitation will be Saturday, May 4, 2019, from 10:00 am – 11:00 am at Trinity United Methodist Church, 409 North Wilson Street, Paris, TN 38242. The memorial service will be Saturday, May 4, 2019, at 11 am at Trinity United Methodist Church, with Dennis Vance officiating.
