Retired Midland Brake machinist Hulon Leo Moon, 85, of Paris died Saturday, June 8, 2013, at Paris Health Care Center.
His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Ridgeway Funeral Home.
Douglas Nash and Corey Cain will officiate.
Burial will be in Olive Branch Cemetery between Como and Cottage Grove.
Chosen as pallbearers are John and Caleb Akers, Jeremy Powers. Jeremy Caudle, David Owens, Matthew Moon and John Gallimore.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Tuesday.
Born Dec. 15, 1927, in Sharon, he was a son of the late George Washington Moon and Vercy
Mae Price Moon.
His first wife, Lillie Mae Asher Moon, died April 25, 1994. He was later married on Dec. 2, 1994, to the former Montez Roberts, who died Aug. 27, 2006.
A member of Jolley Springs Baptist Church, Moon attended Maplewood Baptist Church. A family member said he loved to garden and listen to country and gospel music.
He leaves three daughters: Judy (Jimmy) Morris of Puryear, Janice Reid of Dresden and Marilyn (Steve) Mansfield of Dallas; one son: Dennis (Pat) Moon of Dresden; a sister: Mary Lee Brooks of Gleason; a brother: Gerald (Mary) Moon of Gleason; Eight grandchildren: Julie (John) Akers, Jeanna (David) Owens, Jill (Jeremy) Powers, Maranda (Jeremy) Caudle, Meredith Mansfield, Matthew (Jina) Moon, Ashley Cantrell and Emily (John) Gallimore; four great-grandchildren: Lillie and Caleb Akers, Isabell and Landon Cantrell; and several nieces and
nephews.
