Howard Welch

Howard David Welch, age 86 of Knoxville, TN, formerly of Henry County, died Monday, January 20, 2020, at his home in Knoxville.

Howard retired as a senior foreman after working 30 years for TVA in Kingston, TN.  He enjoyed fishing, camping, hiking, and traveling. He was a member of First Baptist Concord Church in Knoxville, and a Korean War US Army veteran.

Born in Paris, TN on April 3, 1933, he was the son of the late Donald David Welch and the late Maude C. Harris Welch.

He was married to Imogene Melton Welch on September 15, 1953, and she survives of Knoxville.  In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Judy (Ken) Clouse of Knoxville; son, Steven (Carol) Welch of Rutherfordton, NC; and three granddaughters, Stefanie Clouse of New York, NY, Christina (Justin) Birdsong of Knoxville, and Kelly Lynn Welch of Rutherfordton, NC.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, June Butler, Alice Webb, and Jo Carolyn Rigg; and a brother, Albert C. Welch.

Ridgeway Funeral Home 201 Dunlap St., Paris, TN 38242 is handling the arrangements. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 22, 2020, from 10 am until 11:30 am at Ridgeway Funeral Home.  His graveside service will be Wednesday January 22, 2020 at 12:00 pm at Bevil Cemetery in Paris with military honors.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers for the service.

Burial will follow the service in Bevil Cemetery.
