The funeral service for lifelong farmer and retired TVA worker Horace Lee “Hoss” Adams of Buchanan will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Buchanan United Methodist Church, where he was a member.
Ed Montgomery and Latricia Trull will officiate. Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery at Buchanan.
Chosen as pallbearers are Victor, Beau, Sherril, Lee and Will Adams and Tommy Scarbrough.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. today at Ridgeway Funeral Home and after 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
Adams, 88, died Sunday, Oct. 20, 2013, at Benchmark Healthcare in Puryear.
His wife, Verble Scarbrough Adams, survives. They were married on May 2, 1946.
Born March 3, 1925, in Buchanan, he was a son of the late Henry Lee and Maggie Doran Jackson Adams.
Adams retired after 11 years as a machinist with TVA in Cumberland City. He was a member of Buchanan Masonic Lodge 772. A family member said he enjoyed yard work and took great pride in his yard.
Besides his wife, he leaves three sons: Kenneth Ray Adams of Ewing, Va., Ronnie Lee (Janet) Adams of Lebanon and Victor Curtis (Lesa) Adams of Buchanan; one sister: Doran Longendorfer of Oak Ridge;
Six grandchildren: Michael, Jenny and Lee Adams, Beau (Teia) Adams, Will (Jenna) Adams and Paige (William) Campbell; and four great-grandchildren: Alex Campbell and Sadie, Austin and Payton Adams.
He also was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law: Pam Adams; a sister: Norine Hopkins; and a brother: John Henry Adams.
