Herbert E. Rogers

Herbert E. Rogers, age 89 of Paris, TN, died Tuesday, January 28, 2020 in Paris, TN.

He retired after 20 years as owner and operator of Rogers Rest Home in Paris, TN. Herbert was a former contractor and concrete truck driver for Paris Ready Mix. He loved rabbit hunting and was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church.

Herbert was born February 25, 1930 in Kentucky, to the late Clarence Norman and Bertie Morris Norman. He was later adopted by the late Homer Rogers and to the late Margaret Rogers.

He was married to Lillian Snow Rogers, who preceded him in death.

Herbert is survived by four daughters, Linda (David Maynard) Franklin of Paris, TN, Terrie (Alton) Watson of Paris, TN, Shelia (Richard Wyatt) McDaniel of Paris, TN, and Robbie (Archie) Steele of Puryear, TN; one son, Herbert “Herbie” (Judy) Rogers of Water Valley, MS; and 76 grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great - great grandchildren.

Along with his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Louise Rose, and Juanita Hinson; two brothers, James Norman, and Charles Norman; three grandchildren, Stacie Townsend, Dustin Steele, and Heather McDaniel.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home 201 Dunlap St., Paris, TN 38242. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 29, 2020, from 4pm to 8pm and continue Thursday, January 30, 2020, after 10 am until his service. His funeral service will be Thursday, January 30, 2020 at 1 pm in LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home with James Green officiating.

Serving as pallbearers will be Billy Moore, Tony Rogers, Darren Franklin, Michael Paul McDaniel, Jordon Vaughn, Cole Townsend, Jeff Archie, and Adam Townsend.

Great Grandsons will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Entombment will follow at Rose Lawn Mausoleum.
