Herbert "Daddy Ray" Hill

April 11, 1942 — March 18, 2017

Herbert Ray "Daddy Ray" Hill, age 74, of Paris, TN died Saturday March 18, 2017, at his residence.

Ray was a member of First Baptist Church in Paris, TN where he had served as a Deacon, a Sunday School teacher,a Bible Drill Leader and taught Church Training.  Ray served on the Board of Missions and went on two mission trips, first to Rio, Brazil,  to repair homes for street children and the second to Mexico, where he helped construct a new church. He served on the  Zoning of Appeals for the City of Paris for 40 years and coached and managed Little League Baseball for 20 years.

Ray graduated from Grove High School in 1960, he then attended Gradwohl School of Medical Technology in St. Louis, MO. He established the lab at  East Wood Clinic in Paris, where he served as Lab Supervisor for ten years. Then he was a Lab Supervisor for 10 years at Henry County Medical Center in Paris. Ray retired in 2002 from Winchester Painting.

He was born April 11, 1942, in Paris, TN, to the late Herbert B. Hill and the late Lillie Mae Bruce Hill.

Ray married October 22, 1966, to Ann Chappell Hill, she survives.

He is survived by one son, Michael Ray (Jean) Hill of Milan, TN; one sister, Sarah Katherine Davis of Paris, TN; 2 grandchildren, Hanna Hill and Taylor Hill of Milan, TN;  one sister-in-law Retia Hill of Paris, TN; one brother-in-law James (Sue) Chappell of Paris, TN; several nieces and nephews, and special friend Joanne C. Chappell of Paris, TN.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers Grover Hill and Elroy Hill.

His body is being donated to science.

A Celebration of Life visitation will be held on Thursday March 23, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Paris. A Celebration of Life service will be held Thursday March 23, 2017 at First Baptist Church in Paris at 7:00 p.m. with Dr. Trent Bullock and Rev. Larry Simmons officiating.

The family has asked that memorials be made to First Baptist Church, First Baptist Church Mens Ministry or First Baptist Church Care and Share, 313 N. Poplar St. Paris, TN. 38242
