Harold Benjamin "Ben" Dawley, age 72, of Paris, TN, died Sunday, February 18, 2018, at his home.
Ben earned his Bachelor’s degree from the State University of New York in Oswego, NY while working there as a stationary engineer. He retired in 2003 to the Paris area, where he enjoyed boating. He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church. Ben served in the US Navy in the Vietnam Era and was a lifetime member of VFW. He was also a good carpenter and he loved his dogs.
Ben was born September 19, 1945, in White Plains, NY, to the late Clarence J. Dawley and the late Rose Mary Fontana Dawley.
Ben was married September 4, 1965, to Joyce Ferris Dawley, who survives of Paris. Along with his wife, he is also survived by three children, Dawn (Scott) Kellison of Liverpool, NY, Ronald Dawley of Oswego, NY, and Mark Dawley of Paris, TN; one sister, Kathy (Bill) Garbus of Bartlett, TN; one brother, Robert (Gina) Dawley of New York City, NY; seven grandchildren, Samantha Dawley, Amber Dawley, Kaleya Dawley, Emily Kellison, Tyler Kellison, Andrew (Ashley) Gates, and Nichole (Corey) Lower; and five great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one sister, Susan Dowley.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St, Paris, TN. His body is to be cremated. Memorial Visitation will be Wednesday, February 21, 2018, from 12 – 2 pm at Ridgeway Funeral Home with a Memorial Service on Wednesday, February 21, 2018, at 2:00 pm in LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home with Rev. Christopher Rusin of Holy Cross Catholic Church officiating.
