Geraldine Elizabeth Smith

Geraldine Elizabeth Smith, age 91 of Paris, TN, died Tuesday, August 3, 2021, at AHC of Paris.

She was a homemaker who worked at Salant & Salant in Paris.  She enjoyed gardening and cooking for her large family.  Geraldine loved her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.  She was a member at Grace Baptist Church in Paris.

Geraldine was born September 19, 1929, in Muskegon, MI, to the late Jack Wilson and the late Nolan Young Wilson.

She was married May 15, 1946, to Elroy Fleetwood Smith, who preceded her in death in 2005.

She is survived by three children, Fleeta Jane (Gary) Ferguson of Paris, Brenda Louise Holcomb of Paris, and Douglas Fleetwood Smith of Arizona; nine grandchildren, Christopher Ferguson, James Wheeler, Katherine Edwards, Jacqueline Hawes, Nahtanha White, Horace Lee Holcomb, II, Amanda Nash, David Michael (Sarah) Brown, and Dustin Smith; 16 great grandchildren, Chelsie (Tyler) Young, Breann Hilton, Clayton Edwards, Lindsey Edwards, Christian Hawes, Noah Rohrssen, Devan Nash, Nella Nash, Fairen Nash, Sunny Rushing, Nichalos White, Bryce White, Kayne White, Chance White, Brooke Holcomb, and Tabitha Holcomb; and three great-great grandchildren, Nora Young, Archer McElroy, and Waylon White.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by one daughter, Linda Catherine Wheeler; one daughter-in-law, Ardis Smith; one brother, Garland Wilson; one granddaughter, Elizabeth Wheeler; and one great-great grandson, Michael Edwards.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St/PO Box 788, Paris, TN 38242.  Visitation will be Friday, August 6, 2021, from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm at Ridgeway Funeral Home, with the funeral service to begin at 1:00 pm at Ridgeway Funeral Home, with Jack Thacker officiating.

Serving as pallbearers will be Horace Holcomb, Christian Hawes, Horace Lee Holcomb, II, Gary Ferguson, Scott Hawes, Clayton Edwards, Bryce White, and Kayne White.  Named as honorary pallbearers are Christopher Ferguson, Nichalos White, Chance White, and Devan Nash.

Burial will be in Bevil Cemetery in Paris, TN.
