George Robert Klossing, age 80, of Paris, TN, died Wednesday, January 3, 2018, at his residence.
He is survived by his wife Sandra Slaton Klossing whom he married June 16, 1963.
Born February 22, 1937, in Dallas City, IL, he was the son of the late Floyd Edward Klossing and the late Alma Mae Kaminski Klossing.
He retired from the USDA as a meat inspector after working 39 years. He was a member of the First Christian Church, NRA (National Rifle Association) and an honorary member and former president of the Henry County Gun Club. George was an avid sportsman who formerly taught Hunters Safety Classes.
In addition to his wife, survivors include: three daughters: Denise (Barry) Brogdon of Paris, Teresa Mason of Fredericksburg, VA and Kimberli (Eddie) Moore of Bradford, TN; three siblings: Eleanor (Wendell) Link, Betty Olson and Ed (Rita) Klossing all of Illinois; five grandchildren: Sean Mason, Shelby (Cameron) Courtney, Collin Mason, Hannah and Elizabeth Moore and a great grandchild: Kayleigh Courtney.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Charlotte Kipling and a son in law Tony Neese.
Ridgeway Funeral Home will be handling the arrangements. Visitation will be Saturday January 6, 2018, from 4-7 pm and continue on Sunday, January 7, 2018 after 12 PM until the funeral service. His funeral will be Sunday, January 7, 2018, at 2PM in LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home with Otis Hinton and Paul Setlech officiating.
Family members will serve as Pallbearers with Joe Houston and Nelson White serving as Honorary Pallbearers.
Burial will follow in the Olive Branch Cemetery in Cottage Grove, TN.
