George Jackey

George Adam Jackey age 83 of Buchanan, died Saturday, June 11, 2022, at his residence.

George was a retired sales rep in the industrial coating industry. He attended the First Christian Church in Paris and was a United States Army veteran. He enjoyed bird watching, fishing, feeding the deer, traveling, and walking. George had previously served on the Antioch Cemetery board.

Born September 29, 1938, in Louisville, KY, he was the son of the late Roy Jackey and the late Ada Bell Kirschbaum Jackey.

He married Margaret “Peggy” Jackey December 8, 1961, who preceded him in death, February 7, 2020.

Survivors include his children, Kimberly Jackey (Chris) Burke of Crawford, CO, and Brian (Lorilea) Jackey of Henryville, IN; girlfriend and caregiver, Linda Howle of Buchanan; a sister, Margaret Morris Stone of Louisville, KY; four grandchildren, Kyle Jackey, Sarah Jackey, Lily (Jeramiah) Robison, and Keegan Burke; and three great grandchildren, Reagan Kaye Jackey, Lylah Mae Robison, and Finn Adam Jackey.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by two sisters, Thelma Thompson, and Juanita Lyninger; and a brother, Robert Jackey.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St/PO Box 788, Paris, TN 38242. Memorial visitation will be held Saturday, June 18, 2022, from 10 am until 12 pm at Ridgeway Funeral Home. The memorial service will be held Saturday, June 18, 2022, at 12 pm at Ridgeway Funeral Home, with Caren Teichmann officiating.

Burial of his cremains will be in the Antioch Cemetery at a later date.
