George Edward Bell, Jr., age 70, of Buchanan, Tenn., died Saturday, January 2, 2016, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tenn.
He married January 6, 1966 to Betty Godwin Bell, who survives. He was a member of Sulphur Well Church of Christ. He served as a drill instructor for in the US Marine Core where he served in Vietnam and received the Purple Heart. He was also a former contractor who helped build Music Village USA & Twitty City. He was a member of the National Rifle Association.
He was the son of the late George Bell and the late Hazel Bell.
He is also survived by his two daughters, Cindy Bell (Alec) Seals of Naples, Fla., and Jody Bell of St. Petersburg, Fla.; one son, Ricky Bell of Murray, Ky.; one sister: Phyllis Cairnes of Linden, Wash. Seven grandchildren: Alexandria Rebecca & Evan Seals, Summer and Joshua Bell, Christopher Shekell II and Andrew Pajor; and a great grandchild: Noah Mason.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St. - P.O. Box 788, Paris, Tenn., where the family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM Thursday, January 7, 2016. The Funeral service will be at LeDon Chapel Ridgeway Funeral Home at 7:00 PM Thursday, January 7, 2016, with Randy Stephens officiating.
His body will be cremated following the service.
