Gene Anderson, age 85, of Paris, Tenn., died Monday, December 15, 2014, at Morningside of Paris.
He was married June 6, 1948 to Aileen Whitehead Anderson and she survives.
Gene was a member of First Baptist Church and the Friendship Sunday School Class. He began his work career at Moore's Grocery in Paris. He retired after 40 years in the Banking Industry. Gene started at Commercial Bank in 1954 and retired from Union Planters in 1994. He was a member of Paris Kiwanis Club and was a volunteer worker at Helping Hands. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, wood working and yard work.
Gene was born May 16, 1929 in Paris, TN to the late Thomas Jarrett Anderson and the late Lillian Hart Anderson.
Besides his wife, Gene is also survived by his Two Daughters, Pat (Danny) Nelson of Paris, Tenn, Pam (Bob) Moultrie of Paris, Tenn; Four Grandchildren, Bryan (Ellie) Nelson, Natalie (Brad) Skipper, Lydia Moultrie, and Spencer Moultrie; Three Great Grandchildren, Mary Evelyn Nelson, Margo Nelson, and Asher Nelson.
Besides his parents, Gene was also preceded in death by Three Sisters, Lucille Harding, and twins Mildred Marie Anderson and Margaret Davis; Three Brothers, Douglas Anderson, John Anderson, and Robert Edward Anderson.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St., Paris, Tenn., where the visitation will be from 4 – 7 pm Thursday, December 18, 2014 after 10 am Friday. The Funeral Service will be at LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home at 11:00 am Friday, December 19, 2014.
Trent Bullock and Larry Simmons will officiate. Pallbearers will be Randy Whitehead, Barry Whitehead, Ray Harding, Tommy Whitehead, Brent Greer, Johnny Foust, Charlie Foust, and Tommy Anderson. Honorary Pallbearers will be The Friendship Sunday School from First Baptist Church.
Interment will be in Memorial Cemetery in Paris, Tenn.
