Gary Dale Amburgey

Gary Dale Amburgey, age 69 of Henry, TN, died Thursday, May 23, 2019, at his residence in Henry, TN.

He formerly worked in construction for several years.  Gary was a U.S. Marine veteran serving in Vietnam for four years.  He enjoyed horses, boats, fishing, farming, and his chickens and ducks.

Gary was born December 10, 1949, in Rankin, TX, to the late James Denzil Amburgey and the late Betty Jane Roush Amburgey McComsey.

He was married September 20, 2018, to Lois Simmons Amburgey, who survives, of Henry, TN.

Along with his wife, he is also survived by one daughter, Crystal Mize of Cape Canaveral, FL; one son, Daniel Amburgey of Pauline, SC; two stepdaughters, Candyce Noel of Dyersburg, TN, and Shelia Burns of Dyersburg, TN; five stepsons, William Burns of Mason Hall, TN, Mark Burns of Ripley, TN, Ben Burns of Dyersburg, TN, John Burns of Minston, TN, and Ted McCaine of Medina, TN; one sister, Janie Amburgey of McKenzie, TN; one sister-in-law, Brenda Amburgey of Henry, TN; four grandchildren, Michelle Amburgey, Brett Mize, Mark Dixon, and Caleb Dixon; three great grandchildren, Jaiden Saylor, Isaiah Hensley, and Marlee Morris; and several step grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one son, Gary Dale Amburgey, Jr.; one stepson, Billy McCaine, Jr.; and one brother, James Stephen Amburgey.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St, Paris, TN.  Visitation will be Monday, May 27, 2019, from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm at Ridgeway Funeral Home, and continue Tuesday, May 28, 2019, from 9:00 am – 11:00 am.  The funeral service will be Tuesday, May 28, 2019, at 11:00 am at LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be William Burns, Justin Carlton, Roy Mullins, Ben Burns, Dewayne Noel, and Dustin Amburgey.

Burial with Military Honors will be in Brogdon Cemetery in Henry, TN.
