Gary Vern Lowery

Gary Vern Lowery age 68 of Paris, TN, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Monday, November 18, 2024, at 12:30 pm at St. Thomas Hospital West in Nashville, TN. 

Gary was born August 22, 1956, in Columbia, SC, to the late Norb Lowery and the late Bea Margorum Lowery. He was the oldest of four children and the only boy. 

In 1963, the family moved to Tequesta, FL, where Gary’s dad was an electrical engineer for Pratt-Whitney Aircraft. They enjoyed many wonderful years living just minutes from the beach. 

Gary was a bivocational minister, serving as a youth minister and musical director for four churches in Tennessee, and managing four different grocery stores through the years. He earned his B.A. degree in music from Palm Beach Atlantic College and his church music degree from Southwestern Seminary, where he met his future wife, Dianne Armour. Gary and Dianne were married July 16, 1982.

Some of his last wishes were through his expressing his love of God and the hope that all would come to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. He was a member of Union Friendship Baptist Church.

Along with his wife, he is also survived by a son, Brian Lowery of Paris, TN; a granddaughter, Katie Lowery; three sisters, Karen Samples, Brenda Nixon, and Tammy Teutrault, of all Florida.

Ridgeway Funeral Home 201 Dunlap St./P.O. Box 788, Paris, TN 38242, will be handling the arrangements. Visitation will be held Friday, November 22, 2024, from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm. His funeral service will be held Friday, November 22, 2024, at 12:00 pm at Ridgeway Funeral Home. Kerry Shopher and Dean Armour will officiate.

Cremation will follow the service.
