Fred Richard Johnson, age 90 of Paris, TN, died Monday, July 16, 2018, at Eiffel Gardens in Paris.
He retired as a 20-year U.S. Army veteran, serving during the Korean War conflict. After retirement, he spent many years as a mechanic and the owner/operator of Johnson’s Garage in Paris. He loved bowling, golfing, and was a member of the VFW.
Fred was born May 26, 1928, in Little Rock, AR, to the late George Mitchell Johnson and the late Callie Lou Leona Puttman Johnson.
He was married December 18, 1951, to Junie Beatrice Rhea Johnson, who preceded him in death on October 25, 2008.
He is survived by one son, James Stanley (Colleen Y. Hall) Johnson of Stuarts Draft, VA; two grandchildren, Brad (Penny) Johnson of Stuarts Draft, VA, and Brian (Tara) Johnson of Stuarts Draft, VA; and two great grandchildren, Taylor Johnson and Theron Johnson both of Stuarts Draft, VA.
In addition to his wife, he was also preceded in death by four sisters; and five brothers.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St, Paris, TN, where visitation will be Thursday, July 19, 2018, from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm, with the funeral service beginning at 1:00 pm at LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home, with Brian Wimberley officiating.
Family & friends will serve as pallbearers.
Burial will follow in Memorial Cemetery in Paris, TN.
