Fred Allen, age 88 of Paris, TN, died late Wednesday night, March 8, 2017 at his residence.
Fred attended New Hope Baptist Church and was a U.S. Army Veteran. He retired from T.I.M.E.-D.C. Trucking. He was a 50-year member of Masonic Lodge #108 in Paris and also enjoyed being a shade-tree mechanic.
Fred was born June 28, 1928 in Obion, TN to the late Maggie Allen Cunningham.
He was married on December 22, 1973 to Nancy Steele Allen of Paris who survives. He is also survived by three daughters, Mary Ann Shankle of Paris, TN, Bernice Dial of Paris, TN, and Theshia (Steve) Keith of Alabama; one son, Larry (Charlotte) Allen of Portland, TN; one sister, Wylodean (Earl) Ables of Dyersburg, TN; 9 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and 5 great-great grandchildren
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St, Paris, TN where the visitation will be Friday, March 10, 2017 from 4 – 7 pm and Saturday, March 11, 2017 from 9 – 11 am. The funeral service will be at 11:00 am Saturday, March 11, 2017 at LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home with Bro. Glynn Orr of New Hope Baptist Church officiating.
Pallbearers will be Lynn Parker, Archie Steele, Dale Steele, Lynn Steele, Ryan Page, and Chuck Allen. Honorary pallbearers will be members of New Hope Baptist Church and friends and neighbors.
Burial will follow in Rose Lawn Memory Garden in Paris, TN.
