George Franklin "Frankie" VanDyke

February 23, 1940 — December 10, 2024

George Franklin “Frankie” VanDyke, age 84 of Paris, TN passed away Tuesday, December 10, 2024 at his residence.

 Frankie was a 1958 graduate of Grove High School where he played basketball, baseball, was student council president, attended Boy’s State, and was active in many other clubs. He was a US Navy Veteran. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting Duck and Quail. He also raised and showed hunting dogs. Frankie was a third-generation farmer. He served 6 years as a Director on the Henry County Co-Op Board and was named 1995 Conservationist of the year. He was an active member of First Christian Church where he served as an elder and had enjoyed playing church league softball. 

 He was born February 23, 1940, in Paris, TN to the late Roger Riley VanDyke and the late Ruth Green VanDyke.

 Frankie was married on October 9, 1966, to Sandra Clark VanDyke and she survives of Paris. He is also survived by two daughters, Beverly (Jarrett) Brewer of Lexington, TN, and Mandy (Steven) Harrison of Paris, TN; one brother, Roger R. VanDyke of Paris, TN; four grandchildren, Evan Harrison, Eric Brewer, Isabel (Caleb) Orr, and Sarah Brewer. 

 Arrangement are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St, Paris, TN. Visitation will be Friday, December 13, 2024, from 4 – 6 pm at Ridgeway Funeral Home. Visitation will continue Saturday, December 14, 2024, from 10 – 11 am at First Christian Church. The funeral service will be at 11:00 am Saturday, December 14, 2024, at First Christian Church with Rev. Caren Teichmann officiating. 

 Pallbearers will be Eric Brewer, Evan Harrison, Steven Harrison, Jarrett Brewer, Michael Lassiter, Sandy Lassiter, Caleb Orr, and Ron Harrison. Jimmy Williams, Crockett Mathis, Mike Snyder, Andrew Norman, Michael Norman, Jimmy Clendenin, and the Elders of First Christian Church are named as honorary pallbearers. 

 Burial will follow in Memorial Cemetery.

 Memorials may be made to First Christian Church.
