Frankie Lewis

Frankie Barnett Lewis, age 86 of Paris, died Thursday, August 8, 2019, at Saint Thomas West Hospital in Nashville.

Frankie formerly worked at the Holley Carburetor Plant then she worked at Murray McKenzie Jewelers for 22 years. After retiring, she worked beside her husband at Lewis and Williams Market. She loved painting and collecting American Southwest-style art. She also enjoyed growing flowers, watching the shopping network shows, listening to country music and a good laugh.

Born February 21, 1933 in Paris, she was the daughter of the late James Ellis Barnett and the late Opal Townsend Barnett.

She was married May 2, 1953, to John F. Lewis, who preceded her in death May 12, 2012.

Frankie is survived by two sons, Johnny (Lisa) Lewis of Georgetown, TX and Ricky (Christina) Lewis of Henry; one sister, Sue Applegate of Bruceton; one brother, Sonny Barnett of Union City; five grandchildren, Katie Lewis of Austin, TX, Matt Lewis of Nashville, Peyton (Caylee) Lewis of Georgetown, TX, Toni (Ryan) DeBruce Forbess of Orange Beach, AL, and Cliff DeBruce of Henry; four great grandchildren, Abel Grey Lewis, Reed Forbess, Knox Forbess, and Scarlett Forbess; several nieces and nephews; and special friend, Ed Kennedy.

Along with her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by one infant daughter, Deborah Ann Lewis; and one sister, Juanita Barnett Bomar.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St, Paris, TN, where visitation will be held Monday, August 12, 2019, from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm.  Visitation will continue Tuesday, August 13, 2019, from 10:00 am – 11:00 am at Ridgeway Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, August 13, 2019, at 11:00 am in LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home with Bro. Paul Veazey officiating.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Bernie Bomar and J.C. Williams.

Burial will follow the service in Olive Branch Cemetery in Cottage Grove, TN.

Memorials may be made to the Charity of the donor’s choice.
