Evelyn Vann Caldwell, age 90, of Nashville, Tenn., formerly of Henry County, died Monday, March 21, 2016, at the Bethany Health & Rehabilitation in Nashville, Tenn.

Born April 26, 1925 in Indianapolis, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Bud Vann and the late Loletta Roe Vann.

She married October 25, 1943 to Joseph Caldwell who died February 17, 2010. She was Baptist in faith & last attended Russwood Baptist Church. She worked at the Roman Ceramic Corporation in Mayfield, KY. In 1968 she started the Cheese Program in Mayfield, KY.  She received The Kentucky Colonel Award 2 times for her charity work in 1981 & 1986. Evelyn & Joe retired to Floral City, FL, where she started the Golden Ages Charity Work Group with over 50 members. They moved back to Springfield, TN, in 2008 to be close to their children & grandchildren. She loved flowers, watching & feeding birds, fishing, & being with family and friends. Throughout the year, she loved to buy little things and put in bags for Christmas. The family called them Goodie Bags.

She is survived by her daughter Sheila (Gordon) MacDonald of Nashville, Tenn. son, Rodney Dean (Debra) Caldwell of Cottage Grove, Tenn.  Brother, David (Judy) Vann of Harriman, Tenn. 2 grandchildren Damion (Mindy) Caldwell of Lynnville, KY, and Dustin (Erin) Caldwell of Paris, TN. 5 great grandchildren Paighton (Tyler) Goin of Mayfield, KY., Addison Caldwell of Lynnville, KY. Libbie French of Paris, TN, Paxton Pierpoint of Paris, TN, and Emma Caldwell of Paris, TN.

Besides her parents, she was also preceded in death by a son Joseph Caldwell, brothers Red, W.T. and Roger Vann, and a sister Dorothy Vann Bourne.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St. - P.O. Box 788, Paris, Tenn., where the family will receive friends after 11:00 AM Friday, March 25, 2016.The Funeral service will be at LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home at 1:00 PM Friday, March 25, 2016, with Lane Self officiating.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Interment will be at Walker Cemetery in Paris, Tenn.
