Ethel M. Johnson

Ethel M. Johnson, age 78 of Paris, TN, died Sunday, November 5, 2023, at Henry County Healthcare Center in Paris.

She worked as a waitress for many years and later retired from Emerson Electric.  Ethel enjoyed gardening and cooking.  She was an avid Atlanta Braves fan and a lifelong cat lover.  She was a member of Temple Baptist Church.

Ethel was born September 13, 1945, in Paris, TN, to the late George Franklin Wallace and the late Mildred Nell Martin Wallace.

She was married to John P. Johnson, who preceded her in death.

She is survived by her daughter, Misty (Sonny) Brooks of McKenzie, TN; her stepdaughter, Andrea (Kevin) Garner of Lexington, TN; her stepson, Russell (Jill) Johnson of Paris, TN; one sister, B. Jinelle Hainley of Paris, TN; one brother, Russell (Mary) Wallace of Paris, TN; five grandchildren, Tobey, Macy, Scott, Cassidy, and Lauren; and several great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by five sisters, Hilda Russell, Faye Clayton, Betty Underwood, Frances Evans, and Jewel Merrell; and three brothers, Franklin Wallace, Douglas Wallace, and Everett Wallace.  

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street/PO Box 788, Paris, TN 38242.  A memorial service will be held Sunday, November 12, 2023, at 3:30 pm at Temple Baptist Church, 619 N Wilson St, Paris, TN 38242 with Gerald Scott officiating.
